Personal Data Updates and Collection |
ePanel continues to collect and update personal data to improve the efficiency of recruiting and screening. Panelists whose data hasn't been updated in the previous year will be suspended from participating in surveys.
· Survey update and collection: Survey data will be sorted out to renew panelist data.
· Activity update and collection: Panelists are invited to update their data quarterly.
· Initiative update and collection: Panelists can log on our website to submit and update personal data at any time. |
Panelists can apply to be removed from the panel. After they do, any incentive points which haven’t been converted will be automatically cancelled. |
| False Panelist Identification |
| In order to screen out false panelists, Panel Management Center will periodically conduct duplication checks. In addition, when sorting data after fieldwork, the panelists who give inconsistent answers or unacceptable answers will be recorded, and will be deleted after they are verified as being falsely registered. |

Prevention of Duplicate Registration |
Based on Panelist Identification Technology (PIT) developed by ePanel, duplicated registrations can be prevented at the largest extent through doing panelist similarity check. PIT can eliminate the following behavior of false registration:
· Registration with the same email address
· Several attributes (name, gender, birthday, residence area and password) are repeated simultaneously while
registering.
· ID number error: multiple registrations with the same ID number, or ID number can’t match the gender and date of
birth.
| Invalid email address and telephone check |
| Panelists whose survey invitations are not successfully delivered for 10 consecutive surveys will be deleted. |
| Panelists who do not have any responses in the latest 10 surveys will be put under isolated management. |
| Panelists with several similar attributes (name, gender, date of birth, residence area and password) will be inspected by Panel Identification Technology, and will be deleted after they are verified as false. |
| Inconsistent Attribute Check |
| Logical inspection is used during registering, panelists will be deleted after they are verified as false. |
ID Check of Incentive Point Conversion |
| When Panelists apply to convert incentive points into gifts or cash, conversion can be completed after strict ID check procedures. The ID check during incentive point conversion can effectively prevent duplicate registrations and false registrations. |
| Identification of Panelist with False Answer |
| Besides regular surveys, pitfall surveys will be conducted periodically so as to check the truth of panelist’s answers. When sorting data after fieldwork, panelists who give inconsistent answers or unfaithful answers will be noted, and will be deleted after they are verified as being falsely registered. |
| Check if the answers to each question are identical or are suspiciously regular. |
| Open-ended Question Check |
| Check for careless answers to open-ended questions |
| Check for major discrepancies between the panelist's answer time and the anticipated answer time. |
| Check for inconsistent answers to pitfall questions. |
| Check for inconsistence between panelists' personal data in survey answers and panelists' personal data in registration. |
